ETON! ETON! ETON! What can i say, such a great company. They offer a full line up of FRX emergency radios along with standby battery packs for phones and scanners. Partners with the Red Cross to help those in need. The FRX3 is pictured here, my personal one, I absolutely love this thing! AM/FM/NOAA are the three bands this specific mode can listen in on to always keep you in the loop or listen to music(has aux too). Solar, hand crank and D.C input recharges the included rechargeable battery pack of roughly 2600mah. Also has regular 2xAA backup as well. These things are rugged and splash proof. The FRX3 is perfect for the house, office, workshop or B.O.L. Compact enough not to take up alot of room but big enough not to get lost when put away. Everyone should have one of these radios! Seriously, it could save your life. Also featuring a flashlight with a red flashing light as well, USB output for charging phones or battery packs. If your looking for a more pack-able radio look for the FRX1 or FRX2. As i said ETON also offers scanner type radios like their field or elite, with narrow, wide, ssb am,fm, aircraft vhf and more.
PROS: Multi band radio, solar and crank power with battery back up and dc input. alert stand by mode.
CONS: Battery sucker- rechargeable and regular battery life is short lived.
